Business coaching
As a systemic business coach, I put all of my energy and attention into helping owners of small businesses succeed.
Just as an athlete needs a coach, we entrepreneurs need a real person who cares about our success. Someone who meets us where we are and offers support and accountability.
That is why all of my programmes are run live and in person.
1. What is business coaching?
Business coaching is a dynamic process that puts your personal and professional concerns right at the centre. Together we analyse and improve your company at regular intervals.
We deliberately strengthen:
- your leadership skills
- your operational processes
- the financial stability of your company
- the development of your employees and teams
- your strategies for winning customers (marketing and sales)
Trust is at the heart of our work together. We build a trusting basis and develop a clear, workable plan that carries you and your company into the future.
2. How can you benefit from it?
Coaching is an effective tool for turning the success you are aiming at into reality. As your coach, I support you in making well-founded decisions and in moving your company forward in a focused way.
Through coaching you put your own skills to deliberate use, broaden your knowledge and develop your leadership further. At the same time you improve your results and create the basis for continuous improvement in your company.
If you have not worked with business coaching so far, I encourage you to try it. It gives you the opportunity to take your company to the next level, and that is not an empty promise but a sincere conviction. You discover new ideas, tap into potential you had not used and give your company a structure that lasts.
Professional coaching helps you to establish and improve effective systems in every area. That has a positive effect not only on your own motivation, but also on your people, especially on those who are committed and performance-oriented.
With business coaching you build your company on healthier ground and reach your goals faster.
3. Business coaching for managing directors of small companies
As the managing director of a small company you know how decisive a healthy leadership culture is. Even more important, though, is that coaching gives you a clearly defined space in which to think about your company and to act strategically.
From my own experience as an entrepreneur I have learned how essential systems are for the success of a company. When I started to implement such systems in my own business, I was able to move tasks and structures out of my head into a form my employees could follow, whether on paper or digitally (I went for the digital version). The result was clearer responsibilities and more efficient processes.
I would be glad to help you develop and introduce systems like these in your company as well. They give you more freedom while improving the results of your business in a lasting way.
4. Why is investing in business coaching worthwhile?
Business coaching does require an investment of time and money, and in most cases it pays off. As an entrepreneur or a manager you can take your abilities to a new level through coaching and make sure that your company reflects your personality in the best possible way.
Just imagine what a better understanding of your own business processes could mean for your company.
That thought alone shows you how much business coaching can do for you and for your company.
5. Which entrepreneurs is AHA coaching suited to?
AHA coaching is for entrepreneurs who are ready to take responsibility for their own success and to develop their own solutions. We support you in focusing on your goals and in using your own abilities deliberately to reach them. Beyond that, coaching sharpens your entrepreneurial skills and helps you to improve the systems in your company.
Often coaching also helps to resolve communication problems, which reduces conflict in the team and improves how people work together.
AHA coaching also gives you the opportunity to increase your self-motivation and to strengthen your confidence, so that you reach your goals even more effectively.

My qualification as a business coach
I trained as a business coach at Freie Universität Berlin.
When I held the certificate as a systemic business coach in my hands, the real training had in a sense only just begun. I am grateful to my first clients, who gave me the chance to be their coach more than ten years ago, without much experience at the time.
Alongside my work as a coach and entrepreneur I have taken part in numerous further trainings, among them a qualification in Spiral Dynamics and one as a Birkman consultant.
Since the end of 2023 I am also a Certified Small Business Coach.

I would like to invite you to get to know me in a short video or phone call. Certificates may help you to judge whether someone knows the fundamentals of business coaching, but your personal impression in a real conversation matters at least as much.
Feel free to send an enquiry here.
Business coaching at AHA Factory
We work with managing directors and owners in the border triangle around Basel, with a sparring partner who has run companies himself and knows how the decisions in question actually feel.

What business coaching looks like in practice
Expectations differ widely. Some people expect a seminar, others something close to therapy. Neither is right. In practice, business coaching usually looks like this:
The first conversation
Free and without obligation, usually 45 to 60 minutes. Two questions matter here: what is your topic, and do the two of us fit together? The second question is the more important one. Coaching does not work without trust, and trust cannot be forced.
Defining the assignment
What exactly should be different at the end? The question sounds banal and it is the most common reason why coaching processes fizzle out. „I want to feel better“ is not an assignment. „In six months I want to have handed over operational responsibility for sales“ is one.
The sessions
Usually 90 to 120 minutes every three to six weeks. The interval is deliberate: the actual work happens between the appointments, in the company rather than in the coaching room.
The review
After about five sessions it is worth taking stock. Is this going in the right direction? Does the assignment need to be adjusted? A good coach raises that question on their own initiative, even at the risk that the answer ends the collaboration.
What business coaching costs
The range on the market is wide, and it says less about quality than you might think. Common hourly rates for business coaching in Germany lie between 100 and 700 euros. What makes the difference:
- Qualification and experience. A certified coach with twenty years of leadership experience costs more than one who has just finished training, and rightly so.
- Target group. Coaching for board members of large corporations sits at the upper end, support for trade businesses in the middle range.
- Format. Single sessions are more expensive than packages, on-site more expensive than online.
For a process that makes sense, count on six to ten sessions over six to twelve months. Anyone who wants to sell you a twenty-session package after the first conversation does not yet know your topic.
Is business coaching subsidised?
In Germany there are funding programmes for consulting services for small and medium-sized companies, although responsibilities and conditions change regularly. Ask about it in the first conversation; an experienced coach knows the current options in their region.
How to recognise a good business coach
- They tell you when coaching is not the right tool. Some problems call for a consultant, a lawyer or a doctor, not a coach.
- They work with questions, not with recipes. Anyone who knows after ten minutes what you should do has not been listening.
- They have carried entrepreneurial responsibility themselves. Not strictly necessary, but in an entrepreneurial context it makes a noticeable difference.
- They are transparent about the goal and the end. Coaching should make you more independent, not dependent.
